Two weeks notice

(Day 309) "Sultanahmet?" I asked the man behind the counter.

"Servis?" I nodded. "Wait, ten, twenty minutes?"

Back in Istanbul, a week after having left. Primarily to pick up plane ticket I had reserved online. Not all airlines issue e-tickets yet, and the reservations I had made would've been voided had I not shown up to pay for them today. The free servis took nearly an hour to appear, and didn't even take me to where I needed to go. I learn my way around town pretty quick though, and recognizing the intersection I was at, caught a tram the rest of the way.

Checked in and showered, I was ready to for some sleep; The redeye had again left my tired and listless. Let's take care of business first, I resolved, and crossed over to Taksim, the district Viking Turizm was located in. A city map in Taksim Square helped me locate the correct block, and once in the building, an elevator took me up to the fourth floor. A woman punched up my reservation on the computer screen.

"Do you take Visa?" I asked, hoping I wouldn't have to hunt down an ATM. They did, and after signing on the dotted line, my last day was confirmed.

On January 8th, 2006, 327 days after beginning M-whY, I will blog the final day of my adventures. That gives me a little over two weeks left in the spotlight. Conceivably, I could've been back before the new year, but I have one more trick up my sleeve before wrapping it all up!

Thanks to everyone for their support and comments! Knowing people are reading keeps me motivated to continue the updates!

Hey man, it's almost one year. Is it the $, the time of year, or just feeling like you should end the trip and do something else? Whichever way it is, I am sure it's been fun and fulfilling.

Hey Mark! Merry Christmas (or something close to it). Heh, I got my mom to start reading it. She says you look much older (or 'mature' as she puts it). Still pretty amazed that you're two weeks away from ending the long trip. I'm still planning on how to give MY two weeks notice. lol!
